Elderberry (Sambucus nigra)

Therapeutic actions of the elder plant include:

An astringent, immuno-stimulant, emetic, expectorant, diaphoretic, laxative, diuretic, sedative, and anti-inflammatory.

Elderberry is used as a delicious remedy for the flu. It prevents the flu virus from attaching to our cells and therefore, it shortens the duration and severity of the flu.

Elderberry’s compounds bind with viruses, neutralizing the activity of the hemagglutinin spikes before they can penetrate the walls of cells, thereby inhibiting their ability to spread. Also, another compound in elderberry, called anthocyanins, have an anti-inflammatory effect that will minimize aches, pains, and fever. While the flavonoids stimulate the immune system.

INTERACTIONS

Call your health care practitioner if you experience any of these possible side effects of elderberry:

  • diarrhea (from S. ebulus berries or leaves of any Sambucus species)
  • vomiting (from eating a lot of S. racemosa berries)

Ingesting the bark, roots, leaves, or unripe berries of the elderberry plant can cause cyanide poisoning. Never eat the plant's leaves, stems, or green parts!

Don't use this herb if you're pregnant

Elderberry has no known interactions with pharmaceuticals. It should; however, be noted that ingesting the raw berries can cause gastric upset in people with digestive conditions. It is preferable to ingest elderberry either cooked or prepared as a tea or tincture.

Along with elderberry, you can use vitamins C and D3. This will keep your immune system in good shape. Bioflavanoids found in the Elderberry are thought to coat the virus and inhibit the action of neuraminidase, which otherwise would break down the cell wall membrane, allowing the virus to get inside. For this reason, Elderberry, like Tamiflu, must be taken within the first 48 hours (or sooner) of onset of symptoms. Safe for children and adults.

Elderberry has been known to be used as a laxative and it is a very poor one indeed. The amount of berries that must be ingested for a laxative effect is too high and there is great risk of cyanide poisoning. USE SENNA OR CASCARA SAGRADA INSTEAD!!!

WHY YOU SHOULD BE WARY OF THE SWINE FLU VACCINE

Let alone the fact that this vaccine was rushed to production without adequate testing, those taking the vaccine are basically paying $40 to be a guinea pig for the corrupt pharmaceutical companies. These pharmaceutical companies do not care one way or another if you have an adverse reaction to the vaccine, nor are they prepared to do anything about it as they got your money and that’s all they were after.

RESULTS OF CLINICAL STUDIES OF ELDERBERRY

Herbal Science Group LLC, Naples, FL 34110, USA.

An ionization technique Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass coupled with a Direct Binding Assay was used to identify and characterize anti-viral components of elderberry extract. The elderberry extract inhibited Human Influenza A (H1N1) infection in vitro with an IC(50) value of 252+/-34 microg/mL. The Direct Binding Assay established that flavonoids from the elderberry extract bind to H1N1 virions and, when bound, block the ability of the viruses to infect host cells. The H1N1 inhibition activities of the elderberry flavonoids compare favorably to the known anti-influenza activities of Oseltamivir (Tamiflu; 0.32 microM) and Amantadine (27 microM).

No satisfactory medication to cure influenza type A and B is available. Considering the efficacy of the extract in vitro on all strains of influenza virus tested, the clinical results, its low cost, and absence of side-effects, this preparation could offer a possibility for safe treatment for influenza A and B.

Several in vitro studies together with two exploratory studies in humans and one open study in chimpanzees indicate that the aqueous elderberry extract Sambucol(R) may be useful for the treatment of viral influenza infections.

J Int Med Res. 2004 Mar-Apr;32(2):132-40

Elderberry extract seems to offer an efficient, safe and cost-effective treatment for influenza.

Sambucol could therefore have immunostimulatory properties when administered to patients suffering from influenza

Sambucol Elderberry Extract and its formulations activate the healthy immune system by increasing inflammatory cytokine production. Sambucol might therefore be beneficial to the immune system activation and in the inflammatory process in healthy individuals or in patients with various diseases.

The Sordid History of the Swine Flu Vaccine

In 1976 in what is now referred to as "The Great Swine Flu Massacre," the President of the United States, Gerald Ford, was enlisted to persuade the public to undergo a national vaccination campaign. The moving force behind the scheme was a $135 million windfall profit for the major drug manufacturers. Out of Atlanta, came the Centre for Disease Control plan for a national immunization campaign against "swine flu." The fact that there was not a single known case of this flu in the United States did not deter the Medical Monopoly from their scheme.

The Ford-sponsored swine flu campaign almost died an early death, when a conscientious public servant, Dr. Anthony Morris, formerly of HEW and then active as director of the Virus Bureau of the Food and Drug Administration, declared "There is a great deal of evidence to prove that immunization of children does more harm than good." During those days Dr. Morris also stated: "There is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far developed is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza. The producers of these vaccines know that they are worthless, but they go on selling them, anyway."

The damage control consisted of Walter Cronkite and the President of the United States, combining their forces to come to the rescue of the Medical Monopoly. Walter Cronkite had President Ford appear on his news program to urge the American people to submit to the inoculation with the swine flu vaccine. CBS then or later could never find any reason to air any analysis or scientific critique of the swine flu vaccine, which was identified as containing many toxic poisons, including alien viral protein panicles, formaldehyde, thimerosal (a derivative of poisonous mercury), polysorbate and some eighty other substances.

Newspapers across the country published pictures of Pres. Ford with his sleeves rolled up allegedly receiving his swine flu shot. Meanwhile, back at the virus laboratories, after Dr. Anthony Morris had been summarily fired, a special team of workers was rushed in to clean out the four rooms in which he had conducted his scientific tests. The laboratory was filled with animals whose records verified his claims, representing some three years of constant research. All of the animals were immediately destroyed, and Morris' records were burned.

On April I5, 1976, Congress passed Public Law 94-266, which provided $135 million of taxpayers' funds to pay for a national swine flu inoculation campaign. HEW was to distribute the vaccine to state and local health agencies on a national basis for inoculation, at no charge. Insurance agencies then went public with their warning that they would not insure drug firms against possible lawsuits from the results of swine flu inoculation, because no studies had been carried out which could predict its effects. It was to foil the insurance companies that CBS had Gerald Ford make his impassioned appeal to 215,000,000 Americans to save themselves while there was still time, and to rush down to the friendly local health department and get the swine flu vaccination, at absolutely no charge. This may have been CBS' finest hour in its distinguished career of "public service."

Hardly had the swine flu campaign been completed than the reports of the casualties began to pour in. Within a few months, claims totalling $1.3 billion had been filed by victims who had suffered paralysis from the swine flu vaccine. The paralysis was the result of a condition called "Guillain-Barre Syndrome" also referred to as "French Polio".

Potential Hidden Dangers of the Swine Flu Vaccine

Avoid the fear mongering and take some time to read ALL sides of the issue Most educated parents that have done a careful analysis of the data invariably chose not to vaccinate their children. Even a significant percentage of healthcare workers plan to refuse the vaccine (1).

Here are some of the issues:

It will likely contain adjuvants such as squalene which are included in the vaccine to allegedly make the vaccine more effective. These chemicals are extremely toxic and can lead to autoimmune conditions such as lupus and arthritis. A partial list of additives found in various vaccines includes:

  • Squalene (known to cause autoimmune disorders such as lupus in animals).
  • Thimerosal (a mercury derivative implicated as causal factor in autism)
  • Ethylene glycol (antifreeze)
  • Phenol (a disinfectant dye)
  • Aluminum
  • Benzethonium chloride (a disinfectant)
  • Formaldehyde (a preservative and disinfectant)
  1. From Reuters Aug. 27, 2009:

Surveys and focus groups show that health care workers, as well as members of the general public, may avoid getting swine flu shots when supplies become available this fall.

In May of this year researchers distributed 810 questionnaires to public hospital workers. Less than half of the nearly 400 workers who returned the questionnaires intended to accept pre-pandemic H1N1 vaccination.

In a separate article, very few of 85 focus group participants in British Columbia said they would be willing to be vaccinated in the event of a pandemic, and very few people said they or their children would definitely get vaccinated.

The most common reason for refusal was potential side effects, followed by questions about the vaccine's efficacy.

(2) There are now data in more than two dozen peer-reviewed scientific papers, from ten different laboratories in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia, documenting that squalene-based adjuvants can induce autoimmune diseases in animals..observed in mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. Sweden's Karolinska Institute has demonstrated that squalene alone can induce the animal version of rheumatoid arthritis. The Polish Academy of Sciences has shown that in animals, squalene alone can produce catastrophic injury to the nervous system and the brain. The University of Florida Medical School has shown that in animals, squalene alone can induce production of antibodies specifically associated with systemic lupus erythematosus.
